1970 Dodge Challenger

I just purchased a 1970 Challenger and need advice on where to get the sheet metal for it and what brand to get. Of course OME would be the to go but may not be possible expense wise. I have always been a Ford person and i do not have a clue about Dodges. I need a complete front end and many more parts. If we have any vendors or people with parts for sale i would rather do my purchases here than anywhere else. Please email me at this address or call,

I would contact Stephens Performance. They have the largest Mopar salvage yard in the country and they sell new AMD sheet metal for the 70 Challenger. Either way they will have what you need. http://www.stephensperformance.com/

If this is for a race car, then the aftermarket fenders are lighter, but take work to line up, etc.

List what parts you need, I went through the same thing with my 70 after a "incident" and needed to replace a lot, its the really dinky parts that drive you wild like....headlight buckets...etc.

Will give you some suggestions.

Get real familiar with AMD. They have almost everything for those old E-bodies.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry to hear about your misfortune Eric. The plan at this time is to put the car back on the street. It needs a complete front end as the car came with nothing on the front. I was wondering if the AMD parts were the way to go.

I found a 71 roller on craigslist that Broadbent harvested the K-frame etc, Got at least one AMD fender, door, don't forget our friends at JEGS, they sell the AMD parts, and the bumper, etc. They are stamping the inner frame rail with the inner fender as one piece which is pretty slick.

If you need bumper braces, I am pretty sure I have some in the garage, along with other misc parts. If you have got to have the 71 look, I have grille(hard and $ to find), along with the other associated stuff including taillights, tail light panel, etc. Good luck, the E-bodys are not for the faint of the wallet!

Eric your suggestion about Jegs was a very good one. They have the best prices with our NHRA membership discount and the shipping is free. I did the research about the parts on the car before i purchased it. At least you can get the parts you need not like working on the Fairlanes and Falcons i have owned. I hope to make it to the east coast someday to race and meet some of the people we share the same interests.
