Sounds cool. I wonder how many cars will be 1.5 or more under??

As a side note - - How about letting all cars run in the eliminator, instead of just 128.
The quota for Indy in Stock and Super Stock is 180, would only add 1 round to the eliminations if all cars ran.

NHRA even has a provision in the rule book for point distribution of fields over 129. See 2016 rule book - Points and Related Programs Section 3 page 3.

While this certainly will change the order at the top I fail to see how it will change the bump much if at all. Don't the bottom 30 or so guys near the bump pull out all the stops as it is? Remember we're pulling the FS/XX cars out of the eliminator anyway. Hey Larry Hill, can I borrow your truck?

How about no. If your car is not fast enough, you don't get in. Keep the best 128. like always
