Cooter. Send your ideas on the quota system yo Trey and Peter Clifford. I spoke to them together at the Houston race and was asked for solutions to the quota systems. I don't know if it will help but it won't if we don't address it. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

I've always felt that quotas are nothing but a way for NHRA to exclude racers who might otherwise compete, but are prevented from signing-up weeks in advance, because of circumstances often beyond their control. By telling people you can't race because you didn't sign-up early enough, you're really saying "we only willing to deal with this specific level of hassle". At races where attendance is poor (Brainerd), you can call the day before the event begins and get in. They don't have to exclude anybody, because they're dying for participants. They LOVE rules, and virtually all of their rules cost money and/or exclude people.
