I understand that this can happen anywhere and at any track but, your done racing on a sunday at the track for a bracket race, spend two days driving the sweeper around the pits (and not just the pro area) to get all that junk out of the way. I know a lot of people say how great it is to be parked on the asphalt at e-town but, as you go farther down the pits it's pretty rought and could us some love.
amen brother...

Talking Re: "Live From" The Summernationals at Englishtown

Good morning all - Today is very different from the others - even at this early hour it's very , very sticky out there - most have their AC running hard in the motorhomes and it wouldn't get better as the morning rolls on .Good news? It's sunny with a bit of a breeze -what a mixed bag for June .

Both Ken and I thought since we're out of competition we'd scoot out of here early but are parked in bigtime .Next to me is Carl Massafra - one of the three stockers left in and i'm sure a hurricane wouldn't get him to move as he was so happy last night to be competing today .So we'll be around for a while .......

Maybe i'll try posting more pics .......

Question Re: "Live From" The Summernationals at Englishtown

Well, we're still stuck here and Top Fuel doesn't do it for me so I might as well type some thoughts - I don't get why you can come here and not pay the same entry fees we do but can not only qualify but race on Sunday in from of the cameras and crowd if you run a 'Street Legal' car or an 11.50 index car .Just doesn't seem right that today that there are only three stockers and four S/Sers racing .What's wrong with this picture ?????? Or am I just old and set in my ways ........What's next ??? And I can guarantee you won't see any of their pics in one of my threads ..........

The bald spots were horrendous , possibly worse in the right lane , and looked to keep getting wider , making it impossible to straddle them .
The biggest problem was there was no consistency in when the track was dragged and sprayed . As usual they seem to wait until the last minuet to address a problem .
Ken , it seemed like a lot of drivers had trouble staging straight in both lanes , myself included . Not sure why , not usually a problem at E town .

Your thoughts are "spot on" Jack...
What i was told, these street legal & 11.50 cars Did Not PAY entry fee.
Not sure if they can win money or not.
Maybe their just glad they get to race in front of Loads of fans.
But your point on 3 Stockers & 4 SS cars racing today is a Slap in the face to Us that
have to pay $340. entry fee.
Of course, we do have choices to attend or not to attend but that doesn't justify that the crowd can see 8 of those cars in each category and only see 7 cars left in 2 Glamorous
Wheelstanding Class Cars.

Hey Jack, thanks for staying and keeping us updated. I was able to get my rig out and headed home.

With all do respect Keith, its not just about what's available at the showroom, its who supports NHRA at the division level year after year. I would have much rather seen 20 more sportsman cars let it than street and index cars that get picked out hat to go to a National race. As far as the showroom cars goes, Only one car out of those 16 cars was newer than a 2000 model year. Not sure anybody would be interested in buying a 85 LTD to go racing. Also, I think most people at the race track would rather see the COPO Camaro go down the track than a 2014 Cherokee.
