Wade I have put off going on this rant for almost a year. But from your question you apparently had an issue similar to mine. Last fall the owner of Atlanta Speed Shop had a race at Atlanta that included these guys. I wanted to support him and take my car and race. I went on their website and tried very hard to understand their rules. I concluded that my car could indeed run so I went. WRONG! I have been racing in one form or another, all over this country for 49 years, you would have thought I was raping nuns on the starting line! I have never ever been treated as badly by any group of people that say they are racers in my life. Trust me, if you dont belong to their country club you are treated like poop!

And you don't think you NHRA racers aren't a clique? What kind of Nostalgia car do you have? Did it meet their rules? Would you get all twisted out of shape if your car didn't meet NHRA rules and they bounced you? I am probably the only person here that has raced NHRA, AHRA, NASCAR, IHRA and NSS and the best associations for the racers ( in my opinion): NASCAR, NSS, AHRA, IHRA and lastly....NHRA. Sorry you had a bad experience but a simple phone call to the association may have saved that bitter taste. JimR
