That event has been hurting badly since they moved it out of the spring.

A few years back, their track rework went bad, and it got postponed from the usual April/May time frame to the 4th of July weekend. Everyone there was constantly saying "jeez, it's sweltering and miserable, there's no air, for people or cars, I hope they NEVER do this again". So, of course, now they run it this time every year. And on Father's day weekend usually, not to mention the same weekend as the Hot Rod reunion in Bowling Green.

For crying out loud NHRA, wake up and smell the coffee, Bristol races need to be in March or April in the spring, and September or October in the fall. It's one of my 2-3 favorite facilities, we love it, but it is miserable up there in the summer.

The weather here this weekend is actually very nice! 85 and sunny with a nice breeze blowing!


Well we made it to Round 3 where we met up with Randi Lyn! Larry had the better light, but then broke out further than she did. And now she has a bye next round!

Well we are still here in Bristol just relaxing and enjoying ourselves. We cooked a good meal on the grill tonight and now Larry has already gone to bed!! We rode around a bit this afternoon and then went down and talked to our favorite pro stock driver Drew Skillman and took a few more pics.

Boy is it quiet in the sportsmen pits on Sunday morning! Lots of rigs have pulled out and the ones still here aren't doing too much. I think I will try to get the inside of the motorhome cleaned up today before we hit the road in the morning for Norwalk. According to the schedule they are stacking on Monday so we are going to try to get there tomorrow. I think it is around 450 miles from here.
