It is not that hard to make a strap that goes across the top of the battery and use 3/8" fasteners to hold it down . Then it will pass tech without question .

and the OEM 1968 "little bolts" still fasten the tray to the core support. You're worried about nothing. Oh and your new 3/8" bolts are chinese.

3/8 bolts made right here in the good old USA went in the back room at my POPS and took some that were their when I was little and I am almost 50 neat box heavy cardboard box with metal corners

He bought a Blue bins with nuts and bolts from some place full just about any size you could think of wheels studs lug nuts would have been back in 70 -71 when Seattle upside down with no work

I'm sure NHRA wants the strap across the top of the battery to keep it secure in the event of a roll-over, preventing a short or fire.

You would be incorrect when OEM located batteries are mounted with ALL OEM hold down hardware.
