Thank You everyone for all the kind words! Yes the car had a little stumble leaving the starting line at Englishtown which was the reason to head to Lebanon Valley and try and finish working it out! Well a big thanks to David Barton and Todd Hoven whose minor comments popped into my head at 3am Sunday morning with a new plan of attack! THANKS GUYS!! I made some wholesale changes to the tune up and to my driving style and made the right decisions from there on out. Total team effort on Sunday that gave me the confidence I needed!!
None of this would be possible without the talent and master of Hemis, Ray Barton and Ray Barton Racing Engines. I know they are proving they can make the Copos and Factory Stock cars fly, but no one has seen or built more Hemis than Ray. If you bounce an idea off him there is usually a straight faced answer from Ray as he has already tried it. No one has built more fast Hemis than Ray!! A huge THANK YOU for not only a record setting Hemi, but one that doesnt flutter and repeats even when being hot lapped. For those that have seen my car, Ray Barton Racing Engines puts the same attention to detail into every engine out of that shop. First Class operation!! I also would like to send a big thanks to my car builder Kurt Fleischman at the former ProStart RaceCars! The baddest and most comfortable car I could ever hope for. And Joel from Joels-on-Joy transmissions, who will answer the phone on Sunday, takes time out to discuss gear ratio theories with me and then have my parts shipped on last minute notice so my gears continually mesh smoothly!! THANKS GUYS! This was just another showing of Surrounding myself with some of the best people in the business. Thank You to everyone that has helped me and all the positive support and comments from everyone. NHRA is still the best racing family I could hope for. THANK YOU ALL!! |
