Hello everyone, I'm here in Norwalk at the NMCA World Street Finals. Its been a pretty good day with many Stock and Super Stock cars here. The weather is warm, but the crowds are good about 5000 to 6000, and it should be double that tomorrow.
Temps were in the 90's and the DA was over 4000. Not a fast day but the track was great. I have to hand it to NMCA and the Bader's, they sure know how to make a track work. We had everything from street cars to race cars and even with the heat the track never went away. They worked on it constantly. My 60's did not vary more than 5 thousands. I used to come to this race feeling out of place, but the more I go the more I feel like its home. NMCA treats you well and there seems to be a class for everyone, old and new. It started me thinking that NMCA and NHRA would and could complement each other. NMCA always has a young crowd, and that could help NHRA for future growth. I think both sanctioning bodies could learn from each other. NHRA with its vast network, NMCA for new ideas to entice the younger crowd. I think NMCA could be a positive alternative when NHRA is not in your town. Low keyed and relaxed, but still good competition, a win for all. Anyway, it was great to be here, we finished up the Cobra Jet race today, the Factory Super Cars run tomorrow. This class is the same as the NHRA Factory Showdown with many of the same cars competing in NHRA and NMCA. The Skinners, Fezell, Arnett, Massel, Biongiovanni to a name a few are here. Well, I'm off to Indy, so you all there. Last edited by Ken Miele; 08-27-2016 at 10:25 PM. |
