It is financial discrimination. One look around the pits and I easily see it. But we enjoy beating the 100K 8 second mustangs soo much we keep coming back Can't imagine what it must be like to just pull up to the diesel pump with a unlimited business credit card.

Each grading point is roughly $1000
To get into Pomona it will cost $6000 plus $330 (with special insurance)

Is it really worth it?

This is nationwide. People are spending $4k to $6k to enter a National Event, for what? A chance at a Wally? A week of being filler for the Pro's? Getting your schedule moved-around as the NHRA sees fit?

Gluttons for punishment I guess.....

Past champs, no problem, no grade points needed, just enter, I can't blame them if the event is local.

It's worth every penny if that's what I want to do with my money! And if it's one of the races my wife likes to go to its cost me around 3k, she has select races she likes because of their proximity to various outlets.

If car counts are going to be lowered, maybe NHRA should qualify 32 car fields, but allow 55 entries. Bring back performance to a performance based category!

The more the quotas are lowered the higher the entry cost and the lower the purse ???

And, if you are the current 1/4 mile National record holder ( in the class you enter in ), be counted as an additional grade point !!!

That would sure limit national Event entries. If you can't run .8 under why even go? So only the fast (high dollar) cars would get to compete (or even enter), no room for the little guy/ low buck racer. Grade points would become irrelevant as many racers that are slower than .6 under would not want to enter a national event, and therefore would not even bother to get grade points.
