A good friend of mine who frequents this forum, Doug Estabrook, also does magnificent builds. He recreated one of my first race cars a couple of years ago. Incredible work.

Tim, what magazine do you write for?

If you aren't familiar with the forums for Model Cars Magazine, check out the link below. Drag Racing Models has lots of great builds.

I was registered as ScaleDale but got sidetracked by my Mustang gas burner.....

I like that! I have problems with doing the lettering. If I had somebody that I could depend on doing them I would send them plenty of work. Ive turned down 50-60 cars because I couldn't do the lettering the way I wanted. Out of the 450 cars Ive done since 2007 only about 25-30 of them have lettering.

I used to go on there years ago. Been 8 years or so I guess since I last posted there. Some of them people on there seem to have mental issues with the way they act.

I built this about 10 years ago and was in some magazines.

I do not remember who Doug uses for his lettering, but the guy is a master. What blew me away was that I only had a handful of photos from 40 years ago, yet the accuracy is uncanny. Many of the decals and lettering on the car were one-offs that had to be hand-created. Doug had me fill out a five page questionnaire that gave him a lot of information about colors and parts, but I am still amazed. I have the model sitting in a display case on my desk and stop and ponder the quality of work regularly.

The lettering on the Chevelle was done by Alan Bohach up in Canada. Alan also runs "Whoopiecat Decals" and has a lot of drag cars, new and old, on his site.
