Guess my 1995 Impala SS running Pure Stock can be considered a Dime Rocket.
Added a Tune, Converter, 4.10s, 26 inch tall DOT. Drove to the car IHRA Track and S/SS Meets. Changed o the DOT Tires and competed. After the race put street tires on and drove home. Did that for about 4 years plus 10 years of bracket racing. Now trailer it because of breaking gears and a trans barely making it home. d Last edited by Dan Fahey; 01-05-2017 at 04:41 PM. |

Hi Bill. Several old MoPars that should fit the category. 66 and 67 Plymouth Belvedere and Dodge Coronets with the 383 2 barrel carb. Built one twenty years ago in the back yard with no fancy machine work and it ran under the index in K/SA and I ran it at the Summernats. If you can't find one intact, you will have trouble finding the right carb. It was rated at 270 hp. The 70 Duster with the 170 or 225 cu.in. Six cylinder was also a good low buck car back in the day if you were ok driving a slow stocker. The 273 2 barrel 65 wagon is still competitive today in U/SA.

If you can't figure out how to go 15.50, cheaply, with that, perhaps you're in the wrong section of this forum. Right, Bob?

There is one for sale on "Florida racing parts" on Facebook. It's a 1978 Pontiac Sunbird, 305, 4 speed from the factory. The only problem I see with it, it's a Rochester 2 barrel carb. 140 factory rated HP, NHRA 180 HP
