Larry and Ms.Patsy, hated to leave, and miss my "hometown" Natl event, but, my little 4 legged buddy required that I withdraw and make a quick trip back to Florida. It's all good now, and I hope you guys can go some rounds and win (again) at Norwalk. Here's hoping the Skyy is blue and plenty of it this weekend ! See ya soon... JB

Hello everyone, I got here a few hours ago and it was smooth sailing. It looks like the parking crew did a great job getting everyone parked. No lines, just pulled right into the track.
There was a small line at the credential trailer, but the wait was not to bad. They did make a change as far as getting a restricted area access sticker for your racer credential. They no longer give you the chrome sticker for restricted area access if you are a driver. They said you are in the car so you don't need it. The question I had was, what happens when you are outside your car in the lanes, which are restricted. They did not have an answer. If you are a crew member you can get the access sticker. If you are a driver, you will have to get on another drivers credentials to get the pass. If you don't have a friend that has a crew pass left you are out of luck. I am not sure why or what was the reason for this. Many drivers crew for other racers in other classes. All drivers sign the waiver for the restricted areas. I'm sure this is a mistake. I took a few batches of photos today. The weather is nice and we are hoping for a good week. The weather forecast is all over the place and is in constant change, lets hope for the best. |

At Englishtown 2 weekends ago I was not given that restricted area pass sticker . Gloria Ley said I did not need anything more. She did stamp my credential with a DRIVER stamp. I had no problem going under the tower on thursday and Friday. On Saturday after I was done racing I was stopped from going up under the tower or beyond the wall and told I had no restricted area sticker. I said I was a driver and showed my credential. Nope....I'm not with my car I was told and would need to see NHRA to get that RA sticker. I let it go but was pretty annoyed. I like to watch one session from under the tower and never got hassled before at any event I was racing in. You watch the crazy outlaw racing stuff and see people everywhere around the cars and practically on the starting line. All I wanted to do was watch from a safe fenced area off to one side as I have many times.

Since I had to get a crew credential, we both got the restricted area stickers on our ticket. Shouldn't have any problems in staging.
It has been a gorgeous day all day today. Weather is calling for a little rain tonight and in the morning. But we will be up and ready to run at 8:30 as the schedule calls for. I got a few pictures today while it was not so hectic: ![]() This is Mike Fuller's new ride FS/E ![]() ![]() They park spectator motorhomes all in the pits. Ken, This has to be one of the most idiotic things ever for them to change. I'm still surprised with todays technology we have to spend so much time standing in line at the credentials trailer. They have my membership number and a signed waiver attached to a car/driver number already so unless the waiver changes there is no need to sign a new one at each event. In fact just send me a plastic card to be scanned and the events where we paid it allows us in. It is gonna be hilarious when Force isn't allowed on the starting line as it will make for one of his all time best interviews! (You don't happen to know a software guy who could solve this for us do ya?;-) |
