Default Lessons in class racing

This year at the Mile high nationals I learned a hard lesson in class racing. The combo automatic class had 8 cars in it. The weather was
raining off and on and very unsure. After 2 qualifying sessions I was
qualified #4 for the whole class @ -.946 under and #1 in the 8 field
combo class. Only the first round of class was completed and the remainder canceled. It was announced several times friday evening
and saturday morning due the cancelation that of the cars left in competition the fastest one would win the trophy. Well not the case...
It was awarded to the car furthest under the index round 1 of class combo. Round 1 I was -.91 under and The # 2 combo class qualifyer picked up to -.92
under. Thus being .005 further under and the winner. Congrats Norm Warling the combo class winner with his "way cool" 389 CI. 1962 pontiac catalina M/SA. So bear this in mind should you ever find yourself in a similar situation.
Also big congrats to my friend Ross Gregory in his 1st class win in FS/C against Ryan Monfort . Ray and David Barton assisted him with a great engine and crew chief Chad helping out a whole bunch.
