Well, I doubt if ace reporter Mike D. will be here this weekend so hopefully Patsy will be in attendance. The gates opened today around noon time and it's been a slow, laid back day. I would like to give a big, huge D 3 welcome to Don Kennedy, who just recently moved to Tennessee. Don removed his D7 perm number and is now sporting a D 3 number....

Thanks. Someone in our group may have left their racing funds at home in the desk, lol.

MJ - I'll be wearing my Blue Oval hat this weekend and working the Cobra Jet Showdown at the NMCA race at Norwalk. So please continue to take the lead reporting from BG.
I will be filing "Live" reports from Norwalk on the Stock/SS Combo and the Holley Supercar Showdown. Good luck! And I'll see you guys at Indy.

MJ got this started so I expect him to keep posting all weekend!! We are here here and parked and it is a beautiful day! Sunny skies and in the 70s! Test and tune should be starting in about 10 minutes and I expect the lanes to be full. Parking is a little different this year in that the only ones parked on pavement are alcohol, comp, top dragster and top sportsmen! So if you are looking for your favorite racer where he usually parks, he probably isn't there!
The grass really needs to have been mowed, but the ground is pretty firm. There are lots of ruts in our pit area, so I predict that either Larry or I one will fall in one of the holes before the weekend is over! |

I will defer to you Miss Patsy, your track reporting skills are second to none and the beautiful pictures you take throughout the weekend are nothing short of spectacular. T and T is now open and one of the first cars down the track was a beautiful black Dart driven by Larry Gilley . NICE.....As Miss Patsy so eloquently touched on, the parking situation here is different from say....the last 25 years or so....

Chamber of commerce weather today here in beautiful Bowling Green , Ky. About every seven years or so we are treated to 82 degrees, 34 per cent humidity and 29.51 barometer for a DA of 2300 feet......wonderful weather for the month of august.....
