I had the pleasure of chatting with Alf at the Seattle Divisional race. His car is now painted white and looks like it could win at any car show as well as any drag race...if he can keep it together. He was tickled to make more than three good passes in a row, that man has the patience of a saint! I think he said he was running a back up short block and a rod malfunctioned. I won my first National Event round when Alf's car couldn't make the call, way back in '05. He is a true gentleman, it's people like him that keep me playing this insane Stock Eliminator game!

I'm from the Flint area and back in 1977 was one of 30 local students chosen to go to the Buick engineering building to get us interested in engineering. I remember going to the dyno cells and see an early version of the 3.8 V6 turbo with the Q-jet carb! I asked an engineer whats the worst thing ever happen on a dyno? He said that a 455 stage 1 was running idle to redline full load testing and the flywheel broke. the engine came apart, oil all over, broke the fuel line and caught the dyno room on fire. Great memories.. BTW. Buick never had an RPO for the stage 2. They developed the heads and the parts to counter the Pontiac RAM AIR V tunnel port heads and both were dealer over the counter item...Luke SS 311

Soooooooooo, going by the Mopar/LD340 reasoning, this stuff should all be legal right?

Billy,
To stir the pot as my late friend John would say, sure these cars should be legal, genuine Buick parts installed at a dealer or sold over the counter for the customer to install. Like buying a COPO Camaro or building your own COPO, neither is an assembly line piece;-) Ever see a "factory" built Boss 429?
The AHFS will correct any issues right?

I believe Don Christy of NADA has a '69 Boss 429 here in SoCal. Bought from a museum a number of years ago.

Buick Definition......" Fast with Class" ! We don't need all the fancy parts, and Line proved that. Does anyone remember all the whining when Buddy Ingersol was kicking pro stock azz with a little V-6??? Oh and then there is the first legal 7 second super stock car
