As GTX John indicated it's quite doable but with a nose heavy car be prepared to back half for a big tire and of course a good cage is necessary. Ken Etter's Shadow, Mike Volkman, Tom Sheehan are good examples of good running 318 Super Stockers. Just be aware that when stepping up to SS be prepared to spend $$$. You probably need to register for Dwight Sutherland's great classracerinfo (sticky on the forum) to find all the possibilities.

Jim,
This car he is talking about is our Avenger. We have run as quick as 10.18 with it. Car is a ladder bar car with a 10.5 Radial. Car has never had an issue with spin. Don't necessarily need to tub with a 318 combo unless you want to. PK Race cars did an excellent job building the Avenger. Oh, and the 10.18 was at National Trail at Beards S/SS Class Nationals. |
