I had eagle rods in a 289, they looked like new too, as I ran over them. lol.

Ya most rods look great to the naked eye until bad things happen.

I think if you check rod bolt and rod beam c to c. stretch
regularly, should not be an issue.

Manley rods are very nice, and lighter than the Eagle & Scat rods I weighed for mine.

Manley doesn't make a connecting rod for the Ford 302/5.0L engine anymore.

At least 8 to 9 years ago.
In the NHRA Approved Rod List, it shows Manley P/N 14121 **.
The ** has a note that says:
"Rod Identified with ** discontinued by Manufacturer - this rod accepted by NHRA as a legal accepted replacement rod"
