I do not want to name names......It was a major trans builder and we utilized the Alum Drums and Straight cut gears from Protrans in our transmissions ...........trying to save a couple bucks.
I will not poor mouth anyone.........They held up well and the transmissions worked great just not the same performance as Dave Smith builds by a Tenth! Dave has been doing this for 40 plus years that I remember. You buy the BEST........You only cry ONCE!

To add a question into this mix, I have a customer with a McClay 200 he likes to stage at a low rpm, when he hits to trans brake button the car will roll forward. If you bring the RPMs up to 2000 while rolling in to stage it is ok. anybody else fighting this.

I switched to PRO TRANS and was very satisfied so I bought a second one. Sepanek maintains them, you will never find a more reasonable and trusting guy than Jack. Give him a call, he services and builds all types of transmissions and he would be the best one to give you advise on your question. 570-457-6517

I had a T350 with a low volume front pump that did that. Had to hold the foot brake, rev it to 2500 to set the trans brake. My Pro Trans does none of that. Sits right where I push the trans brake button. That works better, it's quicker, I can not think of a thing I would change. Maybe the price. LOL. Just kidding. Well worth the price as well.
