I'm curious who raced this 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Stocker and if it had any significant history? Its located in Knightdale/Wendell NC and is on sale on Craigslist for $1000. (Its a bit of a basket case currently.)
Its pale yellow with multicolored stripes on the lower body and on top. It has the lettering "L/SA 019" on the windows. The "019" could have been "2019" or "9019" originally. No numbers correctly match those on DRC or Draglist. There is also a "VID" on one of the side windows, which might have been the driver's name "daVID". John West originally built that car. It probably hasn't been raced in 20 years.

I will second the John West theory, Lee Brewer (deceased) owned that car, lived close to Raleigh and actually worked for John West at some time many years ago. The remember Lee was a big Lattamore family fan, they may be able to give some more info as well as John West.

After thinking about this a little more, my brother got runner up at the Darlington SC national event in the late 80's or early 90's driving this car when John owned it. (took too much stripe against Mark Trombley) The VID lettering on the window could have been for David (Johns son is named David)

Someone (not me) could probably resurrect this car for not a lot of money. It is still classified as a J/K/L/M car with either the 350 or 455 (not the 400 mentioned in the ad), based on the trim level. And John West still has a shop in Raleigh. |

First off I am truly sorry to hear of Lee's passing. He was a really nice guy always happy with a big grin. I talked to him some years back and he told me he had some health issues but didn't elaborate. We discussed getting the old car going but it just never happened. The boys have pretty much answered most of the questions about Lee's car but John West owned and built the car originally and would have the particulars. ------ God Speed Lee
