As someone who has rebuilt and driven quite a few Turboglides and Buick Flightpitches in their day I have a hard time calling them a 3 speed. I guess you could call a Dynaflow a 4 speed if you use the same analysis, a twin turbine converter in front of a 2 speed transmission. I don't blame you Jack but I have my doubts about the guy that approved it.

I will admit, for the uninitiated , this does sound like brain surgery (I would guess), but the TG did in fact use 3 drive turbines. No detectable shift , but still within the paradigm of a 3 speed transmission...in my opinion.
