When I was racing my SS/FA Mustang in 1970 there was a rumor that Ford was going to make a dual quad 428 but they never did. Ford was also going to have 6 factory backed Super Stock 429 1971 Mustangs but the program was cancelled. I have a copy of the paperwork from Ford dated Nov 1970.

Apparently, Chrysler had similar plans in 1971 with a 440 Dodge Demon!

Wow, that Demon would have been a cool car. The max-wedge scoop really looks good on it.

There was a lot of hoopla about the Demon a few years ago, so Mr. Norm built one. It was shown at SEMA I believe, no idea what became of it.

My girlfriend worked for a Northwest US Chrysler Zone Manager so I was able to get parts through their Performance Parts program. I used them for my A-body racer. I was also able to talk to their engineers for any help that I needed.
Now this was when the Feather Duster and Dodge Lite's were being produced in 1972 or 73. Someone back there planned to produce a new Super Stock Package car using those car bodies and a small block motor. I think they were maybe going to use the W2 cylinder heads, then being used by NASCAR. Those cars were very light. Would have been quite interesting. Years later I knew a fellow who built that very car. Ran 10 teens with no effort. Loren |

Hey Myron. In the summer of '86, I took my 68 Cougar GTE 427 to a Saturday nite bracket race in Orlando and in the 1st round I got this guy with a Cuda that said Locomotion on the door. He dialed way soft and fender raced me all the way to the stripe and kicked my butt. My 1st ever bracket race. What a lesson from one the best!!
