There are pictures of the car wearing two distinctly different lettering schemes. The rarely seen first lettering had CHESROWN OLDS in large, block-style letters on the sides. The car was raced in this trim at the Winternationals in February 1968, winning the E/S class over the Chrysler-sponsored Dodge Dart of Bill Shrewsberry, and then getting eliminated in first round of Eliminator action. That Dart is the Car Craft promo car that was sold at auction last year in Iowa. It would be great to get the two cars together again, 50 years later, although the Olds won't be in the proper paint scheme. |
