They are being smart enough to support the CM’s.. GT and PS would have added 8-10 more cars. The trend before IHRA dropped Class Racing was to build a non-traditional Stocker! Had NHRA participated it would have doubled over night. Importantly, it is a revenue issue! Tracks run on narrow margins to stay profitable. An additional 10 cars would help with Pit Fees. Plus racers bring family and other spectators. They buy things at the track, like Fuel, food, stuff! Figure around $4000 more revenue just from the Stockers. If you had a big bracket race they would have had twice the cars. It is all about filling Pit Space! Why limit your revenue intake denying other Stockers and SS? NHRA has lots of money. Not so with smaller tracks they are supposed to support! IMHO NHRA is shooting their nose off despite their face. Ok cool, handful of National and Divisional races have large draw of cars. Participation is so large, racers have pre qualification rules to attend. Not so with vast majority of other tracks....and this is ignored! They struggle when it comes to supporting Class Racing. In the Consulting world there is another term called Butts in Seats... Class Racing it is Racers in Pit Space. D |

Dan, we log on to this thread to see how our friends and fellow racers are doing at this particular race, not to read your incessant whining about a class that is long gone. You are old enough to remember that in '72 we were forced to convert our stockers to SS or the NEW pure stock class which went away in two or three years as we gradually got back to traditional stockers, so much for pure stock. Just be thankful that you didn't build a pro stock truck. I'm guessing you have much more money in an Impala SS pure stocker than many of our middle and lower class stock racers have in their stocker and probably some super stockers, just convert and move on or quit would be my suggestion.
One question, you live 100's of miles from these Div II events, tell us how many of them you would have made if they had run pure stock? My two cents or YOUR subject, take a break. |

Dan just think of the money you wasted building your pure stocker, if you would have took that money and used it towards a traditional stocker you would have been over half way there. You get up here complaining about what NHRA should do for you but I have seen countless people try to help you on this board but you consistently ignore their advice. Kind of like your transmission, I even replyed to pm me if you wanted a good 200 that I was practically going to give to you but you never even attempted to contact me. Which by the way I sold it for $1200 dollars to a young man trying to improve his performance so I helped him out. You get up here and brag about refereeing soccer all day but now you're suddenly now you're too old to build a real sticker, get real man. Fact is Dan class racing is just not for you, you need a sport that has an "easy" button. Its like this, get off your *** and fix your car to current rules or get off this board with your childish rants every day about how NHRA is not treating you right! Everyone is sick of it!

A Big Thank You to Rick, the Division 2 crew and everyone at Piedmont Dragway for their hard work putting on the race this Weekend. I'm sure out in the hot sun wasn't fun.
