The same as the year before......1.......it’s hard to find 180 racers that want to spend over 8 days of their life in a field outside of Clermont, Indiana....Now , anyone remember the MOROSO party at a remote field back in the day.....it pegged the FUN meter.....

According to Buck (before my time) the MOROSO party was the best fun ever - haybales for bleachers,, bands, BBQ, naked girls (not sorry I missed that part) beer and more beer - 17 cars in SS/J. That was real racing in the good old days.

Tops falling off the girls in the wet T shirt contest didn’t help either....Kudos to the farmer who made his field available for this get together....

21 SS/LA cars for class in 1979. Class winner got to play in the Super Stock eliminator and all others (including myself got to go home early). Still think it should be that way. First experience was in 74 in stock and didn't make it through Class tear down in the barn. lol

I’ve always said everyone should experience Indy at least once. In I think 2014
decided to go to Indy. Like everyone hoping just qualify. Lucky enough to qualify but lost in the first round of class. When at the scales was told I was invited to a party. I said I lost and was told it didn’t matter. Tear downs are random. So not happy to have to tear down after losing class went back to our pit only to be greeted by the “you’ve been selected for a random drug test” lady. Passed both without an issue and then it’s first round. Was lucky enough to make it to the semis. Did I ever regret going to Indy? He’ll no. A memory to last for ever.

This will be my 13th Indy overall and my 12th straight. Any true fan of class racing should experience Indy at least once!
