Crew Chief
Questions: having been at Indy 3 times & observed alternates, they are usually stacked behind staging waiting for call, if multiple AH cars “declined” how was that determined?
Did they volunteer or, which I doubt, did an official go question them, or where they just not at back of staging
I watched Redman work his alternates sheet in a hurried manner to keep cars paired, & I can’t believe they waited for hemi’s to decline while then choosing other alternates

Just curious

I think they alternate process as well as tear down cars are some of the more fascinating “behind the scenes” workings that is Indy, and nowhere else

Thanks for any comments, missed being there. Of all the thIngs we criticize NHRA for, and rightly so, they sure know how to run a big Go.

An ALTERNATE declines by not being stacked behind staging...its duly noted that the MAJORITY of Hemi cars do not run eliminations, but that is their business.....

Patsy, I rely on the honor system when I go there looking for a specific Emmons triplet!

We are an hour behind schedule, Super Stock should up around 7-7:30, followed by Factory Stock Showdown round 1, then Stock round 5. Super Stock will then get two more rounds.

Photos from Factory Stock Showdown qualifying.

Good luck Larry! I would absolutely love to see that gorgeous Cuda in the winner's circle tomorrow afternoon! It has been one of my favorite cars for many years.
