Back in the day, nobody I knew took Buick seriously, mainly because they were really uncommon with everybody doing Chevrolet, Mopar, and Ford. In the late 60s/early 70s there was only a single Stage 1 in a 50 mile radius. It was owned by a guy a lot older than the rest of us who never raced, so we were clueless about how they ran.

In the really early days when people started apprecating musclecars again (late 1980s) I became aware of what a stock Buick was capable of.

I owned both an LS6 and a Stage 1, each was completely original and stock with about 40K miles. The Buick could give the LS6 everything it could handle on the street.

Not taking anything away from Jason, as I have the highest respect for the work he and his family turns out. But the package he started working on was a lot better than most people imagine.

Tom is another VERY well respected Buick wizard. I saw his Apolo last year in Bowling Green, mid 9s all day long.
