When considering a quick release steering wheel for any car that runs on a NHRA sanctioned dragstrip, remember that the NHRA rulebook in the General Regulations section state that....."Adapter must be welded to shaft."

Right now the only 42.1 SFI splined quick release hubs that seem to be available are ones from Jeg's house brand which you have to order the splined hub separately and I think they only fit the 6 bolt wheels ,not the more popular 5 bolt style or from NRG Innovations ,which has a large selection of hubs to adapt to the column.
Although I don't agree with the need for welding ,since the same nut that retains the hub retained the wheel, Travis is correct as stated in the rules. ….I run a bead around the retaining nut and shaft to prevent any accidental undoing.
