What weight oil and any screens in lifter gallery. What about detonation hammering rods?

Kevin , also the drain backs beside the lifters are plugged ,5 w 30 semi synthetic and yes screens in the valley......

If you have those drains plugged then it might be trapping too much oil in the top if you don,t have it vented some how. Ran into this years ago

I would take those screens out. A wise old builder from Detroit told me its like watching water run down the street and how it backs up when it hits the drain. I have never used them. Stock baffled pan ( Milodon) and a stock pump will take you far.
