Brad gets my vote for current drivers as well. He is an awesome driver doing it all himself mechanics, driving and so on. Running low tens compared to low 9’s high 8’s. And he drives a clutch car.

Brad gets my vote also !! It seems a little tougher on this side of the country. Almost every race over here is 7 rounds. I see a lot of 5 and 6 round races on the west coast ! Just my opinion 😁

Great thread, but why are we so preoccupied with labeling someone the GOAT?
Not just here but in every sport. All the guys mentioned are incredible racers and their success will be obvious to all of us forever more.

As the list grows, I think Joe Santangelo belongs...

Since we can't compare drivers that aren't racing any longer, Why not get someone or some companies to sponsor a race, say in the middle of the USA, and invite all of the current drivers that should be included and let them race for "GOAT".

Great idea. How would the field be picked??? Top five in each division in Stock and Super Stock for the last 5 years or what??

Would the winner in each category be the World Champ??.

IMO, it isn't a one-race discussion. Even the very best win a relatively small percentage of the events they enter.

I'm no Justin fanboy, but 3 titles and a 2nd in two seasons is pretty amazing. Then you consider his Stock title a few seasons prior, winning national events in 5 or 6 classes, 20+ national event wins in his early 30s. It's rare air.

I agree that it's not a one-race event but the discussion shows how diverse the criteria everyone uses to decide who is the best..................js
