Just saw the results of a wheel failure last week, not pretty. The failure was not one of the Race Star wheels. I do not trust the incoming QC of materials made in China. Not trying to be political but, my car, my life and my decision. Race Star did say that they are working on bringing the process back to the USA.

I just bought a set of Vision wheels for my Valiant. They are Chinese too, and they had a set that look exactly like the wheels that were in the original post. They are nice looking wheels and appear to be well made, but they are not lightweight race wheels, more like street wheels. If you're looking for lightweight race wheels, $99 wheels aren't them.

Driving back from the Las Vegas Nationals this year ......my crew chief had a Chinese wheel come off on the freeway as some of you may remember from that race.
It went through the windshield of a car going the other way and killed a 16 year old girl and a 24 year old girl just starting out in life. We spend the money to buy American made Axles and Components for all the trailers we build.... even though all most customers do not care about anything except the lowest bottom line price!

On the flip side. How many (myself included) have used American made bogarts or Monocoque wheels that split the rim???

I've cracked the barrels on fronts too. 1 piece forged fronts for me now.

Very sad to hear about the Chinese wheels flooding the market.
We also use Lindsay racing wheels, front runners and double beadlocks made right in Arizona. Chris is very good at what he does and does everything in house. Check him out. Mike |
