John, Billy is right, nobody cares in California. your local Divisional Director is just trying to keep his job.

Disagree!!!

My son sent an email to Glen Cromwell yesterday at 11:00am est and at 12:00pm est, 1 hour later, Glen Cromwell replied by calling him.

I say they are really listening. Well done Glen/NHRA!!!

Did anybody mention that they brought back Wesley to do inspections at Chicago.
That was a move in the right direction.

I would say the content of the email has a lot to do with how fast or if you get a reply.

I agree.

A well written and respectful letter ( e-mail) gets their attention quicker.

I'm not a very good letter writer, but if someone on here was good at writing one that was to the point, respectful, and allowed others to share it in their e-mails to NHRA, it might be effective.

Just an idea.

Let me know how that works out for you, I'll see you Friday.
I have never spoken to Glen but I HAVE PERSONALLY (as in face-to-face) spoken to Peter Clifford a couple of times and was just given the "company line" (aka the hog s^^t shuffle).
Dave Mohn is a good guy and a good race organizer who has done whatever it is that needs to be done to get his races in. He is concerned about doing what he can do to help his Racers. I don't think that he has a whole lot of input with the "Ivory Tower" bunch. (OBTW Dave, you can prove me wrong this weekend as I plan on spending some time in-your-face as usual)

Billy, the fact that Glen replied to my son, no mind called him to discuss the subject of his email, says it worked out better than we expected and they are really listening. Further, Glen closed their conversation by telling my son to call him anytime to discuss any issue he might have. Based on how Glen handled this email, I feel they are really listening and more important listening to the right demographic for their future.

Ed, I absolutely agree with you about Glen replying to your son in such a personal and timely fashion. I hope that this will be the new normal for NHRA dealing with it's membership. BUT........ it has been my experience over the years that people like Glen don't last long in the NHRA and/or they don't have any real capability to make any changes or decisions. I hope that I'm wrong and Glen is the face of a new, improved NHRA but after years (and years) of disappointments I think that I have a reason to be skeptical.

I'll just say this.. maybe this guy Glen is the new Len Imbrogno.. for those who remember Len, he was the NHRA guy that looked out for Sportsman Racing, back in the day.. Len really went out of his way for us, and always made staging lane appearances to introduce himself, and to discuss personal racing concerns.. He was a great guy in my book, but apparently was not going with the grain of the upper eschelon, and disappeared.. hope this doesn't happen to Glen, if he happens to be cut from the Imbrogno cloth...

Cromwell and another gentlemen came out to those parked at the NASCAR track going multiple trailers to say thank you for sticking it out in tough conditions.

He came off as genuine in his appreciation of the racers.
