Hey, here's a novel idea that would clear up a lot of the game playing, turn off the ET boards for qualifying (kinda like in the old days before scoreboards), weigh car, fuel check car, THEN receive time slip.

C'mon....guys. Man, it's pretty damn simple to me. These Lane guys are smart. And they knew if they waited long enough the heat in all of the engine and surrounding metals would cool, adding lots of oxygen molecules to it thus making the car heavier and la-la, make weight.

Really.

You can't help to think how this whole deal would turned out if it was a 396 Camaro that was involved, it would probably have been a 50/50 situation on here

Does this have anything to do with what's going on here?

That is because last year I let them know that the 1973 has a different body and , intake manifold .I asked them to separate the 1974 and 1973 corvettes.. They answered me saying not only are the body and intake different but the 73 has different head. Now after getting the horsepower increase I wrote and reminded them that last year they separated us in the year end stats. This was there answer. With the stroke of a pen they made the parts legal on the 1974.

My thought is a class car should be teched, weighed and fuel checked before making any run. The class to be run should be stated and placed on the sticker and the vehicle properly marked also. This would alleviate some of the confusion and mistakes before qualifying begins. If a car is found light or fuel non spec etc. then NHRA can take action.
Also some of the tracks I have been too, the return roads are long, have curves and go through some pit area before the scales. Maybe this should be a concern.
Ask yourself, why do you class race. The rules to follow, the acomplishments of making a car go fast while pushing the envelope under tight specs. Im sure there are many reasons otherwise just go bracket race and all is well.
Lets do our part everyone and enjoy NHRA class racing for the time we have left and the tracks that are still here.
Thanks.

Bobby, by doing our part do you mean by following the rules and not blatantly cheating or by being vigilant and policing the known cheaters? Asking for a friend!

Bryan, I doubt very much that the majority of S/SS Racers would be willing to "be vigilant and police the known cheaters" unless it directly affected them. Ya take a lot of s&&t for "ratting" out cheaters in this game.
