Rod, does this Callies part number come with the legal extra .013 stroke or is that an option?

Jimmy, they do not offer the extra stroke. I bought one about 3 months ago and asked, for the third time. I asked them at PRI a couple of times if they'd offer it.

Thanks Alan,
I guess the next questions are, which is better new trick of the week crank or an old STOCK unmodified crank with the extra .013 stroke? Jimmy |

Just got a call from Callies and they declined to produce a Pontiac crankshaft built in the same configuration as the SBC pix that I posted.
I was thinking if it would be OK to take a 55 pound Pontiac crank and tie wrap the SBC crank to it and submit it to NHRA tech for approval??? It's difficult to get companies to commit to a production run for a low number of sales and that's why you have Comp Eliminator type cranks in Stock.. Build it and they will come... That way when everybody has a Lightweight Callies SBC crank in their Stock Eliminator car the playing field will be level for the SBC again.

Bob. I think Callies made this 305 & 350 Crankshaft, for sprint cars, they a 305 & 360 class`s & Speedway Motors in Lincoln, Ne. sells them.

The last Pontiac engine was manufactured for the 1980 model year and that's 40 years ago, before the NHRA lost its mind.
If the thought process was the same 40 years ago, you would have seen 35 pound and not 55 pound Pontiac cranks. It makes no sense to me that NHRA looked at the SBC Callies crankshaft and said "Looks OK, just like it came out of a 1967 Chevy" I have no problem with the racers that went through the process to get it approved. All they wanted was performance. NHRA has ruined Stock & Super Stock. Now they ask for our input to save their bacon I just can't wait to see what the NHRA will screw up next, based on what they have done to the Pro's.. Just sayin'
