If you're using a SOLID lifter then the Techs should use the lifter that's in the engine. I've been bit by lifter height before when going through a teardown in the days before the Techs had an adjustable lifter.

I don't race in Stock but I do race a super stock car. I don't see why they don't allow the roller lifters in all stock engines. Many of the newer cars come from the factory with roller lifters. Might even things out a bit and help some of the old iron keep up with the newer stuff. Stock is pretty much like the old time super stock now.

There are a lot of older combos out there where aftermarket roller cams / lifters are not available and wouldn't be able to take advantage of the benefits, so much for a level playing field.

Well Mike, the way I see it, roller lifters would drive up the price of an "average" Stocker way beyond the price of a new cam and roller lifters and it would only benefit a certain few combos assuming that the stock lift rule and the rotating assembly rule stay. It wouldn't help any of my stuff one bit.

I agree with mike ,keep it the way it is ,,,ss has the unlimited valve train specs ,,,yeah stock isnt stock but there are limitations to the class,if you have performance common sense and some sweat equity, you can achieve a bunch and have satisfaction on your accomplishments
