I have quit using over the counter spin on filters on my race engines over ten years ago after I had problems with some AC filters collapsing. I now use a System 1 filter and have had good results. They are a company local to me that makes billet rods and has developed some good racing oil to compliment their rod line.

I used System1 for a couple of years, instead of cutting a filter open, to throw away at the end of each day of running the car.
I had the guy from the Sunoco lab check my System1 filter as well. It did not catch as much trash as the WIX, nor flow as much. Very suprised.
