If you're working with a harder block, you will want to use a silicon carbide abrasive. By numbers, a 400-grit Flex Hone will deliver rpk of 8-12, RK of 18-22, and rvk of 28-32 on harder blocks / sleeves.

This is what I've seen with my Mitutoyo SJ-210 profilometer after doing 20-ish strokes in clockwise direction, and 5-ish strokes counter-clockwise, with 400 grit silicon carbide hone, on Darton sleeves. In other words, excellent results.

Mileage may vary.
