I wanted to do that exact thing at our local track with a drone. Track used the insurance excuse even when I explained that I carried my own drone insurance. My drone allows me to do YouTube live broadcasts.

During Hyperfest at Virginia International Raceway this spring, one race had a drone with an automatic follow feature. I was flagging turn 3 at the time and was very concerned the drone would distract other drivers, but it didn't. NASA collected some awesome live footage, maybe 40 feet away from the car being tracked. It didn't go all the way around the track due to the controller being stationary, but it ended up being awesome footage. Can you imagine putting drag race footage behind the cars live streaming in a wireless LAN?
