Understandable he would be cranked up when he got out of the car. He's high strung anyway. Agreed, he shouldn't have gone hands on. They shook hands, made up, maybe have a laugh over a beer and become pals. No one knows what transpired after the fact. Ferre gets noticed, maybe some new found notoriety. It's over with.

If NHRA wants to fine him and maybe dock him points for a race next year, after all the banquet festivities are over, that would make sense.
How did he not race him clean?

Was Autostart turned-off?

Were they holding the tree for DEEP???????

Get real!

He got hung-out for a tad bit, but ALL WITHIN THE RULES!

And when he finally staged he rolled right into DEEP!

Did John Force get slapped, punched, yelled-at by anyone he Deep Staged against this year?

Did John Force NOT race cleanly?????????

I was a Steve Torrence fan, but after that bull**** ***** slap, he can go ***** himself! People with money think they can do as they please.

Doug Herbert would have folded him up like a suitcase!

The Torrences have been our close friends for over 20 years.Nothing was given to them. They are fierce competiters in business, sports and life in general. They are hard working, good people. As long as there is competition, there will be altercations. If you have never had the desire to give someone a shove, you probably need to get your testosterone level checked.Congratulations to Steve,Billy,Kay and all those Capco Boys!

If he was a sportsman racer, he would have been thrown out of the event. I saw this coming from his previous on-air comments. He should NOT get a pass just because he races Top Fuel.

There is a significant difference between desire and taking action!

Desire, yes. But, I'm not an eight year, I can control my emotions. And, so should he. He's a bitch.

Biggest problem I have with this is it was done right in front of an official. if any of us would have done that we would’ve been immediately suspended. why the double standard???? Shouldn’t the rules be enforced the same?

NHRA posted "We are evaluating the matter and any potential penalties will be assessed after a thorough review".NHRA has to be aware of whatever penalties are given (if any) it will set a precedent for future similar incidents in all classes. They may just impose a"big fine" and a public apology which would not be acceptable.Have to see how it plays out...gsa612

Yeah, a big fine to a millionaire family that just won a half million probably won't mean much to ST, just like his "apology" doesn't hold much water, either.

NHRA posted about their “disappointment” over the incident, but apparently not so much that they stop posting promotional videos about it. Gimme a break, they’re pondering the precedent set by it when if a sportsman behaves similarly the precedent is already established, DQ’d on the spot.

Yeah, and Adolf Hitler was just a misunderstood painter.
