See press release on NHRA Racer.
http://nhraracer.com/content/general...805&zoneid=175 At least NHRA is trying, and thats all we can really ask at this point. They are showing that they are trying to care.

This is a very creative solution. I would much rather race at Gainesville than Atlanta. Let's hope they can get the race in.

I agree. I'm always more than willing to beat the drum when I feel they do us wrong, so i need to be real and give credit when credits due. Many feel the suits want a Pro only show and we're just in the way. I might feel that way sometimes, too. But here they had a scripted chance to do just that and they're adding in Sportsman!
I'm not blind enough to miss the fact that we're going to be bringing revenue to the table, but still, we all should be happy with the decision, lets just hope we're able to race by then! |

I believe Atlanta only had a quota of 45 for stock wonder if they will expand that since Gainesville can hold more cars or do they keep it at that quota to keep on a schedule.

Since it looks like NHRA is trying to get a full program at Gainesville, maybe for this year they could raise the quotas for the sportsman for all the national events to help recover some money that has already been lost

FYI- I withdrew from atlanta when they made the announcement to cancel, but what a surprise !! I got a call from Rich Schaefer form NHRA. He saw I withdrew, and asked if I wanted back in for Gainesville. This was prior to the announcement by NHRA. Since it's a much longer tow I declined, but the fact he called and gave me the opportunity before reopening entries I consider first class. Thanks Rich!

From what I understand the quota numbers are more driven by the time NHRA has to get cars down the track than space in the pits.
I hope I am wrong but with a compressed time frame already I don't know if they will think it is possible to add to the quotas. |

I read that NHRA was opening registration around April 1st. Need at lease a grade points of 4. Didn't say how many cars they was allowing.

I’m sure a few of the D1 crowd that was entered will probably back out as I can’t see many making a trip back down to Florida again. It’s also as of right now on top of the Numidia D1 event so we will see if that schedule stays as is or changes
