I was aware of that (*) regarding SS/GT and SS modified. Your answer also confirmed me, that NHRA Rulebook isn't complete in that regard.
An add-up, like you said, (If there are no engine specs, then you cannot race it in Stock) should follow the text: "Only those cars listed in the guide are "eligible" for competition".
