This happened to my dad several years ago. He was asked to come to the scales, fuel checked then reinstated.

I think it used to be call first or worst infraction is out.
In that case Marty presented both would be out.
I have had it happen to me in Modified at an IHRA race.
Have no idea how it is interpreted these days.

Two ways to look at it, with Driver B being reinstated in either case.

1. Driver B was red first, but the car being light is worse. The “first” rule only applies to equal infractions, and being light is definitely worse. Driver B advances.

2. Driver A may have scaled light after the run, but he staged a car that was not legal so he was “first” anyway. Driver B advances.

Marty, IMO.. I don’t see any way that driver A can advance ...I believe driver B should have been called back and allowed to weigh. .....

Driver "B" should have been reinstated. Isn't that why winning cars are scaled after a win? I had a similar situation happen to me years ago. I lost the round but was reinstated because my opponent drove past the scales.

Driver A brought a car that wasn't legal to the race. Driver B didn't cross a lane boundary. Driver B should be reinstated, regardless how he lost the race.
