Why this limit of 250? 1 acre of land = 43560 sqft. If every person has to keep a 6 foot radius then that is 113 sqft per person. 43560/113=385. At a minimum there should be 385 people per acre allowed at any event. Maple Grove Raceway is advertised as 450 acres so that is room for 173,250 people even with proper social distancing!

How many spectators are going to want to watch from some of the back acres there? The calculations are made for the spectator area.

BTW .. It is not a hard limit of 250. We got approval for a car show in Bucks County, Pa. to have more than that after we submitted a plan for how we would control spectator numbers, access, circulation and how they were spread over the entire show area. We worked with the county and got the OK. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the show because of liability issues if someone sued over COVID-19, but we did get approval to have the show.

Bobby do you want to be the guy pitted over by the bar? And as soon a you drive to the lanes social distancing goes out the window. But I agree with your concept 250 is dumb.

The problem with the 250 number is that it does not consider density. 250 people in my back yard is a lot different than 250 people in a football field. We were working ona car show and got approval for 1,000 at any given time based on the distance we were planning between every show car. We were also going with two-hour timed tickets to make sure not everyone came at once.

We presented the plans to the county board of health and got the OK. Then the lawyers got involved.
