Actually the payout on the $50,000 dollar race at The Million dollar race is worse than NHRA payout
Superstock winner in Houston won 6 rounds Payout $1,800 winner ? $50,000 race wednesday at the million Entry $350. 6th round winner $800 7th round winner $1,000. Semis round 8 $2,000. So, I was shocked when I looked up the numbers. I thought the same as you. Looking at numbers, Payout was worse at bracket race if you went 6, 7 or 8 rounds. |

Not sure the year referenced in the article so I just picked 1985.
If you just use the inflation calculator 1985 dollars = 2020 dollars Entry $100 = $242 Win $1,200 = $2,903 With just inflation we should be racing for $3,000 with the current entry fee.
