Watch, watch, watch: WD 40 is the worst thing for rust prevention. I bought a block that was stored for five years; was told it was sprayed once a year. Machinist gave it back to me & said .030 over will not clean it up; looking for another block. Lost a crank that same way. Grease it up boys; lasts forever!

For blocks and cranks in long term storage I use spray white lithium grease, but don't miss a spot.

there is no rust issue. walls r discoloured thats all. giving it a shot with the plateau brush hone...let u know. thankyou everyone for your insite.
