Some might know this, but the Moodys first hit it big with a cover of a Bessie Banks song..(Go Now !)..This was 1965 A bit later , Denny Laine (later of Wings) left the group. Justin Hayward stepped in , as lead guitarist, vocalist and chief songwriter. The Days of Future Past featured a symphony orchestra up front, and sold a whole bunch of copies. Lots of bands used symphonies, such as Procol Harum, The Beatles But the critics claimed the Moodys were not a R&R band. This is why, IMO, it took them so long to get into the R&R HOF. They were NOT known for scandals, arguments, and heavy booze and drug abuse... In other words, they didn't fit in. I think, if I was able to come back as someone else, it would be Justin Hayward! Multi -talented , classy guy.. I figure if I could sit down with my guitar, and all these great riffs and lyrics would just come to me, I wouldn't be in the garage, having a 25 year old car kick my ***. I might be at one of my houses at Cornwall by the Sea ;-)
