Putting this race up against a points meet and having the racer have to choose one over the other is clearly not the answer, especially 100 miles apart.
Walk through the pits and just look at the truck and trailers and you know the Stock and Super Stock guys are not racing for $. When NHRA lowers the quotas even more and has a grade 9 and grade 10, maybe then everyone crying about how stupid NHRA is for not taking all entrants at a national event will see the way NHRA is thinking. The NHRA event is a draw because of the people there. If you could have an association race with ALL the classes from Top Alcohol down to super street, live TV coverage (Warren Evans style), DRC reporting results, a grade point (lol) and a chance to get your pic in their monthly publication with a trophy (wally), then you stand a chance. Forcing the racer to choose was simply a lose/lose for both the racer and the promoter. |

Mr Gator, it was not there mine deal, for putting this race on top of the baby gators, with them doing the Pro Stock and Pro Mod race , no better place to run it, , 23 cars and they still paid the full payout. Ya the rig's are bigger, but i still race for the dollar, being retired for 6 yrs, this money will go a long way for getting my new bracket car ready, Trust me these promoters will try again next year, and i will support them , where is your car completing this weekend. Thanks again Wes Buck and Richard Freeman for the great support and race. Thanks Brian Oakes
