I am looking at buying new wheels and tires for my nova, Stock width 12 bolt with cal tracs and split mono leafs. Running a 30x9 hoosier bias slick. Wanting to buy Billet Specialties Street Lites. I cannot decide with an 8" wheel if i should do 4.5 backspacing or 5.5? I have been trying to measure with a pro star 4.5 backspacing but with just a radial street tire on the wheel. Does anybody have the same combo I am trying to do that knows for sure which backspace is correct? I really do not want to run a spacer if possible, but with a 5.5 backspace it looks like I will hit the lower shock mount.. Thank you for your time!

My suggestion would be to PM Nmbr1GMfan in the builds forum, he runs a later model Nova.
See you at the races, Wayne Kerr |

Use a 10" wheel if you possibly can.

Mr Boyle was kind enough to call and give me advice last night, so this morning I ordered an 8 inch wheel with 5.5 backspace like he runs. Thank you all for your time!
