Out of the car, 2 ways. Check the coil tower for carbon tracking or cracks & check the primary and secondary circuits for resistance with a DVOM.
A 3rd way is on the car. Hook up an ignition oscilloscope to the ignition system on the car, pull 1 plug wire, start the car and see how high the spike on the disconnected cylinder goes on the scope screen.
