HP factors to the '71's, which have the highest rating for Mopar 4 bbl small blocks. "Natural" class is "E" and they can adjust weight to "D" or "F". It wasn't too long ago that NHRA allowed moving to a faster class with weight removal. (Last year or two?) That's become easier over the years with lighter brakes, wheels, etc.
It's also how the '70 340 6-Pack Challenger T/A ended up in C/SA, and set the record at 10.33! They are not that heavy either. 1970 340 4bbl's have a smaller carb and the '72's lost compression and valve size.
